Bienvenido...

Situated in a complex of four“casitas,” "La Casa de las Toronjas" (the House of the Grapefruits) is hidden from the street and representative of small garden apartment complexes once found throughout much of the American southwest. A local interior designer furnished the property, creating a comfortable, masculine ambiance, evocative of the Mediterranean and old Spanish California. The property is one-story: there are no steps anywhere on the complex except in and out of the pool/spa. The "casa" has a microwave, two televisions with cable, DVD and CD player, two bedrooms with king size beds and two bathrooms with safety grab bars in the tub/showers. There is wireless and unlimited free phone service anywhere in the U.S. The condo has its own private patio. The visuals are Bougainvillea, the moon, fallen grapefruit, and the dry, silent Jacinto Mountain standing guard. I think of this place as a place to create or heal, to read or write and invent or trade stories. I like the fact that the pool is 8 feet deep at the deep end and the pool is at the rear of the property affording much privacy.  Please note that normally the pool and spa are not heated; however nearby hotels offer day passes to use their heated pools for a fee.  La Casa de las Toronjas is located in a safe neighborhood, surrounded by boutique hotels and historic homes and a short walk, about five blocks, to the heart of downtown Palm Springs. Palm Springs itself is a little town situated at the base of mountains and filled with distinctive architecture including Mediterranean, Southwest and mid-century modern homes, fine restaurants and interesting shops. If you are looking for something intimate, quiet, private and charming from where you can walk to downtown in a few minutes, this is the place.   Note: Minimum of two week rental period required.
